What is distance Learing like?

Hi, I'm wondering what distance learning is like as I've just passed Foundation leval and thinking what to do for September. Also has anyone thought of the Diploma route which they are doing for pilot? <BR><BR>From Sonia

    Hi Sonia,<BR><BR>I did Distant Learning for the Foundation Level, it is very good but you can feel left out a little bit, apart from the odd phone call or e mail to my tutor i didn't have any communication from anyone else. I thought that if i had done say a day release or evening class i would have understood a lot of things a lot easier. Hopefully i can do this for the imtermidate level. i found doing distant learning you have to have a fair bit of self discipline!! It dosen't suit everyone, but you may enjoy it. good luck anyway.<BR><BR>Regards<BR><BR>Georgie

    Thanks Georgie for the advice. I've found Premier Training are OK and they have a phone number to call in the evening for me to contact someone if I wish. My manager is supporting me as well. I found that last year with travelling and when the tutors didn't turn up at times it was annoying! At least this way my errors are my own!.<BR><BR><BR>Regards<BR><BR>Sonia

    What is distance Learing like?

    Hello<BR>I've just done distance learning with the financial training company, i've found them very helpful, just a phone call or email away.<BR>Distance learning is only good if you can keep on track of things yourself, at the end of the day it'll be your fault if you lag behind, you do have to manage your time. I chose it because I didn't want to spend 3 hours straight after work going to college, I'd rather spread the studing time out through the whole week. Also the fact you can start anytime of the year and work at your own pace is an advantage.<BR>If you can manage yourself well then I say go for it. I started foundation in February and passed through distance learning.<BR><BR>x

    ...as for the new dipolma route, I like the sound of it, portfolio work takes up a lot of time, it'll be so much easier just do take a stimulation.<BR><BR>x
