Hi

I currently do a bit of both, did Foundation at college and just passed, started Intermediate with Premier Training just before I took the foundation exam, aim to take exams in Dec, and my local college have accepted me for Technician in September (however, still deciding whether I'm taking on too much by doing it all at the mo).

I enjoyed college but felt sometimes the pace was a little bit too slow and repetitive, I also enjoy home study but you have to be very focused and motivated, and at times it is easy to say "that's enough I'm not looking at my books today!", whereas if you were at college you would have to get stuck into it.

I think If I am realistic I prefer college for the ease of getting a quick response to many queries etc at once, but I enjoy the pace of home study, using this forum etc to get answers if tutor is unavailable due to it being an evening or weekend.

I suppose there are pros and cons to both methods, just depends how you like to learn and how dedicated you can truthfully be to learning outside the classroom environment.

Take care

Tracy

yeah thats what i most like about college you can share experiences and get a quick answer to a question !!

yeah i did the same tracy foundation in 6 months !! i really enjoyed it too if i had to do it for a year i think i would have been un happy !!

ha your wondering wether you have taken too much on your plate love !!

i thought it would be a good idea to do A level maths and physics aswell as AAT and work full time and to think i was gonna sign up to a degree in physics with open uni aswell !! oh how i am regretting it now !!

yeah i think i might do that a bit home study and a bit taught my main worry is the simulations though !! if they are anything like foundation sims they are gonna be a nightmare

but i heard intermediate is more maths than accounting so hopefully with my A level maths it wont be too hard

anyway good luck trace hope to see you on the technician level in jan

    Hi

I think I would prefer to go to college, but due to work and and a family to look after that home study is the only option.

I managed to do the intermediate level in a year without too much anxiety, but the technician level has been hard and it would be nice to chat over things with fellow students - that is why I am very grateful for the forum. I think it depends how much time you have to study and your other commitments that dictate your decision, but if you have a choice college everytime - it is less stressful.

Eva
