Hi Rachel.

You get exemption from the first year. You have missed the deadline to register for the December exams.

Scott.

    Hi

If you have done the new standards AAT, its the entire first stage. If you did technician under the old standards it will be papers 1.1 and 1.2.

Neil

When you apply to ACCA there is some leaflets in the pack which tells you how to apply for exemptions. You have to send in your statement of achievement or your certificate and it usually takes about 4 weeks for them to grant them. However to get the exemptions, you do have to pay the exam fees for them so as soon as they grant them they send you an invoice for £120!!

Annette

    Rachelgreen,

I have been given until end of August to fax evidence that I have completed AAT technician stage so you still have time to send ACCA your Statement of Achievement, certificate, letters whatever, to do the exams in December.

Regards,

gaffarn
ACCA fax 0141 582 2222

The deadline for the Technician Statement of Achievements is 31 August. I sent mine off on the 18th, and they still haven't got it. They now tell me that - no you don't get them there by the 31st, but you need to send it there so that they have 7 - 10 working days time to process it - BY 31ST AUGUST!!
How is that supposed to work, if you don't get the Statement until the 18th???????
I am very concerned about their attitude, as I have tried everything to get it there on time, now they have changed their story! Has anybody got any advice?

    Hi

Christiane1, I assume youve been told this over the telephone or by email from ACCA Connect? The problem is that ACCA Connect don't always seem to have the knowledge of written policy and sometimes get things wrong. Also, they can be less than helpful at times.

Thanks for that Neil, I couldn't agree more!

Yesterday I received another e-mail from them again suggesting that despite meeting all deadlines, it may take 4 - 6 weeks for the registration to come through, which obviously sounded to me like there is no way of sitting December exams. So I e-mailed a complaint through.

I received a reply today. And this is what I have finally understood about the situation:

If you have sent all required paperwork in by 15 August (excluding the Technician SoA), and forward the SoA by 31 August, I have now been assured that this will guarantee that you can sit December exams.

So it only took 10 phone calls, 5 letters, 38 e-mails and lots of worrying.

(only joking)

Hope this will clarify things for those who are in the same boat.
