I have received my Technician and was wondering if anyone knew when we would be receiving membership certificates?

Following a telephone conversation with AAT a while back I sent off my membership application at the end of July - hoping that I'd get both certificates together (wishful thinking!)

Helen
Membership Certificates
Hi Helen

Spoke to AAT today with regards the same issue. I was told they are now processing my membership application form now but there is an outstanding invoice on my account for £50, being student membership fee due from 1st November 2005. Hence even when application is completed, I will not receive my certificate until I clear the £50. Does not make sense considering there is still 2 months before my current student membership expires. And will I need to pay both my full membership fees and students membership fees even after completing my Tech Level. Am hoping AAT will read this and advise accordingly.0 -
Membership Certificates
Hi

Trotts, if the AAT were to admit you to membership now you would have to pay the admission fee of £35 and then the full membership (£95) fee on renewal of your membership in November - i.e. more money!0 -

I am shocked. You mean we have to pay £35 application fee + £60 membership fee now, and then another £95 in just two months time? Please could someone tell me this is not true.

0 -
Membership Certificates
Hi Neil

The fact of the matter is I have already paid the £35 sent together with the membership application. I don't mind paying £95 next year but do mind now if am made to pay an additional £50 i.e. making my application fee to £85.

Trotts0 -

Hi

Just reread my posting, not sure its actually clear, infact it came across as totally opposite of what it should have.

The £35 is an admission fee to upgrade your current membership from student to full membership, therefore you still need to pay annual membership fees - you have to pay both! Other wise it would be like trying to get an extra large Macdonalds meal by only paying the top up fee of 30p and not the basic cost of the meal!!!

If, for example, you had become a full member six months ago, you would have paid the £35 then and thought nothing of it 'til November when your membership becomes due, being the usual £95 for full membership. However, since you (like myself) are applying for membership close to your renewal date, the AAT seem to be prepared to let us pay the student membership fee for the next year and then upgrade it to full membership by paying the usual top up fee. If youre a admitted as a full member now, that means in November you'll be a full member, but the AAT are giving you the chance to carry on the years membership for the usual student fee.

You still need to subcribe to another years membership, you cant expect to stretch you current year out for another twelve months by paying only £35.

Neil0 -

Membership Certificates
Hi

Steph, the AAT seem to be allowing students who are admitted to membership now but whoâ??s fees would normally be due in the Autumn, to pay the usual upgrade fee of £35 pounds, but instead of charging the full membership subscription fee of £95 in the autumn are instead allowing us to pay the student subscription rate instead for the coming 12-months.

The £35 is only an admission fee for the application etc, it doesnâ??t cover any form of membership subscription, so these subs are still due. Regardless of when you apply for membership, you have to pay the £35 fee and then your 12-month subscription when it comes due.

Riaz, I sent my application form off 4 weeks ago, having completed the exam in December and the rest of the devolveds in time for the August release of certificates. A week later I had a letter confirming rceipt and that applications were taking 3 weeks to process. Phoned the AAT today to enquire how it was coming along and was told my confirmation was posted on the 26th, came hoem to my Membership Certificate today!!!

Neil (MAAT) 0 -
