Hi I have been approached by a friend to counter sign their Passport Application. I have explained that I don't think being a AAT Technician is sufficent however they are most instant that an Accountant can sign. Am unsure what to do, if I do sign it, I will be honest and state AAT Qualified.<BR><BR>Does anyone have any thoughts, or same experience?<BR><BR>PS still awaiting membership confirmation.<BR>

    There are many people that can sign a passport application and you are right in saying an Accountant can do it but we aren't Accountants we are Accounting Technicians therefore I do not think your signature would be accepted.<BR><BR>Recently my boyfriend signed my brothers passport application as he thought he had the relevant qualifications but the application was sent back as he wasnt qualified enough - my brother missed his holiday! Wouldnt want that to happen to your friend.<BR><BR>Kerry

    I understand that you need to be a Fellow member to sign passport applications. I have read it somewhere on this site. <BR><BR>You need to be a Full member for 5 years to become a fellow member.<BR><BR>C.

    Hi<BR><BR>Fellow members can sign a passport application, but the professional position you are in may also make you suitable even if you are not an MAAT - for instance a local business man/woman could sign it, regardless of proffesional qualifications or not, regardless of what business they are in.<BR><BR>Neil

    I have received my MAAT today, and am the Finance Manager of a Charity, therefore I am going to sign the forms for my friends, but make them aware again that it could be rejected.<BR>Many thanks for all replies.<BR>Nicola
