At college last night my tutor spent 3 hours on Contract Law. We then got loads of questions to answer and research on Sales of Goods Act and Data Protection Act. Do you need to know all this stuff for this course?

Whats with all the Law stuff??
That seems very excessive to me. The most you'll get on an exam is a very short question if it appears at all. Sounds pointless to me.
Pete0 -

We only ever skimmed this section - as PEN29 said, three hours sounds excessive to me too!

Helen0 -

Hi

This sounds relevant to the cash management and credit control unit technician level. I did this by home study so a slightly different way of teaching it. But I dont think that what was covered would have taken three hours in a class room and besides, cash management and credit control is technician level.

Neil0 -

There are quite a few elements at Foundation level where you need to show knowledge and understanding of those pieces of legislation. Elements 1.1 and 1.2, for example, require you to know about 'basic law relating to contracts and the Sale of Goods Act'. Three hours does seem a lot of time to spend on this, but you might appreciate it later when you come to build your portfolio.

Chris

0 -

I started the foundation course three weeks ago and we spent three hours aswell going through the same, we were told that we wouldn't be expected to know all of this information and when we do our assessment we could referback to our printouts.0
