Student Cards? (NUS)
Hi Claudia,

I think you can only get an NUS card if you are studying through a college or university.

If, like me, you study using i.e. BPP you will not be eligible. However, if you study at a college there should be a NUS rep. for the college who will be able to give you your card.

If anyone knows any different to this, please let us know as I was trying to get one before as we are students after all!

PP220 -

Just had a quick look on the NUS site:

NUS Cards are an exclusive benefit of NUS membership. Only students' unions at colleges and universities can become members of NUS by affiliating to the national union. If the students' union at your college or university is a member of NUS (and most are) you can collect your NUS Card from your students' union. Sorry, NUS do not issue cards direct to students.

So yes, to get an NUS card, you need to be studying at a college or university which belongs to the NUS.

Poo....... :-)0 -

ooohhh... ok Well, I am studying at Long Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge. I'll ask them, but I don't think they are member of NUS, because last year one of girls studying with me asked about student card, but never received one
I think I'll go to Cambridge Regional College for this free English course, so I'll get NUS card and I'll get discounts

Thank again, phunkyphantom22 (don't know real name)0 -

I'm studying ACCA at FTC, and we all received a e-mail saying that ACCA have now joined up with the NUS, as a result all ACCA students can now apply £7 for a NUS card. It is an affiliate card, but one will still be entitled to the regular discounts.

Regards0 -
