Hiya<BR><BR>This is probably a bit of a strange quetion but does anyone know how to show minus figures in brackets on spreadsheets??<BR><BR>Many Thanks<BR><BR>Archersgirl

    Help Needed!!

    I've certainly done this on Excel.<BR><BR>Highlight the cells you wish to format, then click the format menu and the cells option.<BR><BR>In the drop down box, click "custom"<BR><BR>Then look at the new drop down list (called "type") and decide whether you want to show £s only or pence to. For £s only click on #,##0;-#,##0 (this will give you a separating comma, but no £ sign), if you want pence, click #,##0.00;-#,##0.00.<BR><BR>Whatever you have clicked will appear in the box on top of the "type" drop down list.<BR><BR>In here, edit the contents to #,##0;(#,##0) or #,##0.00;(#,##0.00)<BR><BR>Click OK and you're done!<BR><BR>It's a bit messy, I know, but you only have to do it once per workbook - thereafter you should find that the bracketed option appears at the bottom of the custom list.<BR><BR>Also, now you know how these formats work, it is easy to change anything (e.g. colour, £ sign, comma).<BR><BR>Hope that helps,<BR><BR>Andrew Harrington
