Hi all
Being as though I have recently become a member, I am interested in doing the sage and excell course available on the CPD zone. I was just wondering..... has anyone else taken up these courses and did you find it beneficial?

Much appreciated

Steph

    Hi,
Do you mean attending a CPD course, or studying the handbook/guide in the CPD library.
I downloaded the Excel handbook. It is free, it is well written, and I learnt a few things, even though I have been using spreadsheets for about 18 years. So, I would say you have nothing to lose.

Sheelagh

    Hi Again
I just took a look at the Sage guide. It looks fairly comprehensive, though there is no substitute for practice. If you want to learn it properly and have no previous experience in Sage, why not look for computerised accounts evening classes in your local college. You should be given the opportunity to purchase a student copy of the software at a greatly reduced price. As part of the government adult learning initiative, you should be able to access free training in excel if you are a beginner. Some colleges also provide free Sage training.

Good luck
Sheelagh
