Hi all,

a word of advice do not miss any of the ACCA deadlines to get exemptions and sit examinations, I will have to miss out on the december sitting and sit my exams in June of next year. Due to complications with signing off my project, I missed the first deadline and as the exemptions weren't awarded by 15 October I entered for the part 1 exams and 1 part 2 exam, in the end I have been told my exemptions for part 1 have been awarded but effective from June next year only, so I can sit the part 1 exams this year or just don't turn up and sit part 2 exam only, but loosing the examination fees for three part 1 exams. I will have to pay for the exemptions separately, I have decided to ask for a refund now.

On the plus side I have longer time to study and get a first time pass with a good percentage in June next year, on the negative side I would have wasted six months. I will have to make up for it by sitting 4 exams in June and another 4 exams in December next year, so I can be on target for the December 2007 finish, I have decided to sit all the part 3 papers including the optional ones.

Regards,

Nafisa

Just a quick question - why did you pay the entrance fees for the part 1 exams if you knew you were going to be awarded exemptions?? You'd only be one part 2 paper ahead (if you did the papers like you said) and £120 down.

Am I right in understanding that you're going to ask for a refund on the exemption application - so if you fail a part 1 paper then you'll be worse off, unless you decide to pay your exemption fees.

I think you're being a bit ambitious with the sitting of the exams - wouldn't you rather take an extra six months to finish and pass first time rather than overloading yourself. No offence meant - I didn't mean that you wouldn't be able to pass first time with the way you've planned - it's just I know I wouldn't.

I registered with ACCA in August and ignored the exam entry paper until my exemption application had gone through. I then got another entry paper with all my part 1's exempted. Even though the ACCA said I could take my part 2s this Dec I'm having to wait till June as my colleague is sitting her ACCA finals this Dec.

Helen

    Hi

I also agree with Stick2000, it is a little ambitious although I take my hat off to you for trying, I know I couldn't do it within that time scale.
I am also waiting until June 06 to sit my ACCA exams (hopefully part 2's if I pass DFS in DEC). Personally I would rather the extra study time and hopefully pass all exams first time round rather than rush and fail.

Good Luck
Michelle
