ECR exam predictions

Hello all

I've just about finished all the past exam papers and simulations and are about to spend the weekend thumbing through it all to try and work out what hasn't yet been tested in previous papers. I am not relying on this happening (far too risky) and are revising everything but last time it really helped me to try and think of questions they might ask and how I would answer them.

E.g. for the June FRA I noticed leasing hadn't really been tested yet so I compared the types and it did come up.

I just wondered if anyone else does this and what your thoughts are for the December ECR exam?? I will post mine next week after I have looked at everything. It all helps if we can work together to share tips etc..

Hi, it doesn't help to think what they might ask...the best thing to do is what you have done already. Go through the past papers. That's what I have been doing and it really helps. I have a mock exam on Tuesday and feel confident enough to tackle it. Why not try and simulate an exam, sit yourself down, timer and all. Then check it....it helps boost your confidence!

    Good luck :D

Sorry Alicia but I partly disagree with you (not all of it). I have done all of your methods and will continue to redo practice mock exams as well. I just think it helps to look at topics which haven't been questioned and write down notes and practice these areas rather than relying on past exam papers. That way new questions aren't such a shock when you see them.
I still don't rely on this tactic and are aware that all areas can be tested. Predicting just gives me another way of keeping my revision going whilst covering all areas.

I should have some ideas soon if anyone is interested. It already looks like they like to alternate between written explanations and calculations of some areas, I sometimes concentrate too hard on calculations and forget some of the theory.
The outline of areas covered under resource centre and exam support seems useful.

PS We all have our different methods of revising so its fine if you think mines wrong for you as long as we all pass thats the main thing!!!

    Re:ECR exam predictions

I argee with you Tori, In fact im interested to read what you find out as this time around im not as "ready" as i would like to be.

I have only done 2 exams so far (passed both) and found that Home Study students seem more prepared than some (only some) college students.

I think the main difference is that college students go 1 night a week and then revise whats been told in class. They do practice papers when they are told too.

As home study student I read every word in the books over and over and do every paper that is available to date - I think there is about 8 for ECR.

It was more noticable in June when I took the FRA exam - how many came on the forums and said that they hadnt a clue about leasing/ hire purchases. Its in every FRA book so whats the excuse - using "my tutor didnt go over this" isnt an excuse.

ANYTHING can be tested in the exam - ANYTHING that is in the ECR tutorial book. If it hasnt been tested before then its likely to be tested soon!!

Tori I would love to read that you come up with please, my email is Amanda_aat@btinternet.com

    Good Luck to all

    Re:ECR exam predictions

i agree as much as past papers help its always best to run through the book and make sure your ok with everything, i only usually do past papers in the last 2 weeks to get into that frame of mind.

but yeah toriT if you wanna share your research i guess it would be interesting to see hat does and doesnt come up
