UNIT 4 WORK BASED EVIDENCE

Hi all,

I have recently started studying for the AAT at home, thanks to my workplace, and am struggling a bit on the work based evidence for Unit 4 which i need to submit. I work in bookkeeping/payroll, and dont know where to start! I was hoping someone would possibly be able to give me a few examples of what evidence i can collect?!

    I'm studying by distance learning and have taken all 4 sims but my tutor said we didn't need any evidence to 1 - 4 as it was not all covered by the test papers.

    We only need to get stuff for 21 - 23 as far as I'm aware!

    who are you studing with? I'm with financial training company, I couldn't get any work base evidence either so I requested a stimulation. If you can't provide work based evidence the home study company your with should provide you with a stimulation test upon your request. I found the stimulation was easier than providing evidence anyway, takes less time.

    Hiya,

    Im also studying with FTC. That sounds like a good idea. Does it cover everything they ask for on the student record? Or do you think i will still need odd little bits here and there? And I'm guessing I would just file this in my portfolio as my evidence?

    If i take one section of Unit 4 as a sim, do i have to take them all as sims?

    So many questions!

    Does this mean that I can send in my Mock skills tests for the units as evidence in place of actual skills test? I do have some eveidence, but for things like wages, I don't.

    Sorry for the late reply been busy.
    You would of got a mock stimulations for unit 4, you can't use this as evidence, its just a mock to guide you really, just to make sure you've understood everything involved in the unit. For evidence you will either need to provide work based evidence or request the real stimulation, which is the same as a proper exam (by that I mean exam conditions, you either go to the centre to do it or you are supervised at your place of work, if your work is willing to do that).
    You don't have to so stimulations for all the units, just the ones you can't provide evidence for. The one I took didn't cover all the criteria but they do provide you with extra questions for you to answer that have been approved by AAT, so the whole unit is covered.
    I take it your doing the original route for your AAT and not the new one? The new route you would do stimulations instead of building a portfolio. I'm thinking of doing this for intermediate as I've found its very time consuming building a portfolio, plus I found the stimulations easy to do and takes a couple of hours instead of weeks.
