New to studying - assessments

I have just started studing on a home correspondence course. I am currently at home full time with my children so am not working although my previous jobs have been in accountancy.
What is my situation with regards to work assessments and experience? My previous employer offered for me to go to my old work to complete the assesments in his presence. This is the information I had when I first joined up for the course. However, the company has since ceased trading.
Any advice would be greatfully received so I can try and set something up.
TIA,
Jules

Re:New to studying - assessments
Hi
The way I see it, if your not in accounts work then you'll need to do stimulations instead of providing work based evidence. You just request each one from your study provider each time you've finished studying a unit. Don't worry to much, AAT is designed so anyone can study it, doesn't matter if they work in accounts or not.
Hope I've helped. Who is your study provider if you don't mind me asking?0 -

Thanks alot for your reply - it has helped confirm things (and stopped me panicking a bit!)
My study provider is BPP - Stamford Street, London. They do not allocate a personal tutor now but give numbers relating to the Unit you are currently studying for.
I will contact them with regards to the stimulations. Do you think I will need to do these in a monitored enviroment? I am just a bit limited on places to go to do this.

Yes you will have to be monitored as they're just like real exams but not as scary really, as exams usually cover lots of areas whereas the stimulation will just cover the one unit. Phone BBP and see what the say. I'm with FTC so can't advise on what BBP will done.0 -

Hi
Jules, you'll need to arrange for a suitable person to supervise you. This is normally someone who occupies a position of authority but isnt a friend or family member. I had someone who was know to my family as an insurance broker.
