Hi all,
Does anyone know what the pass mark is for the Foundation exam in December is? Or what you need to achieve to get a pass?
Many thanks for your help

Re:december Exam
Hello, i wondered the same thing but then found out that there isn't an official pass rate. I think it depends on how well people do on that specific paper. But i think the majority of people do pass the foundation paper. Good Luck!0 -
Re:december Exam
Hi!
I think with AAT there is no offical pass mark i.e. 70%, it's pass or fail - competent or non-competent.
The whole idea of the AAT qualification and how employers recognise it, is that it shows you are competent in the subjects covered by the syllabus. So you are either competent or not!
I'm sure you will pass though - I passed first time and many people do - even if you don't, just keep on trying and you will get there!
Good luck!0 -

Re:december Exam
Hi Nick
Good to hear from you again!! I'm sure you will be fine for the December exam, as said there is no official pass mark but so long as you have learnt all the relevant topics and reviewed the past papers you will be fine.
I did the old papers over and over again until I practically knew them off by heart (remember to practice Sales and Purchases).
The second part of the exam has more random questions and usually finishes with a bank reconciliation.
Good luck to everyone, and most importantly the actual exam is easy compared to the simulations so don't panic!!
Take care

Re:december Exam
Hi Tracy,
Good to hear from you, how are your studies going?
I have done a bundle of mock exams, and past papers and feel pretty confident about the TB and also the bank rec, it is the random questions and the journals that sometimes give me problems, but fingers crossed I will get ones I know.
Thanks all for you replies.

Re:december Exam
Hi,
We have been told that there is a pass rate that the exam board uses to see if you are deemed competent or not.
The exam is in 2 sections and to be deemed competent you need to get 2/3rds right in both sections. So that 66% in section 1 and 66% in section 2 to be deemed competent.

Hi Nick
I'm very well thank you and studying hard for FRA at the moment (supposed to sit the exam next week but not yet made my mind up!!). Hope the move and everything went well for you and that you are now more settled.
Look forward to chatting with you soon on Intermediate!
