How many people think they have passed ECR?

I didn't find ECR too bad - most people in my college (including myself) think they have passed. How did everyone else fare out?

    i have to admit i found it easy too, which is worrying as i am now doubting myself as iwas expecting the exam to be really hard !!!!

    I found it easy too, its worrying as only 2people showed up in my exam centre, i failed my june ecr exam so hopefully i found it easy cos i think i passed.

    I cant beleive how many people are NOT on here. I have come on to read everyones answers - but no one has bothered.

    Im not sure how ive done - i think ive passed, but it was weird being the only one sitting the exam at the center. I finished in 1.5 hours which i thought was too quick, but i can only wait now and see. I think the only thing i really wasnt sure the limiting factor question - the figures seemed weird.

    I hate ecr - so the quicker i get the skills test out of the way the better.

    Did you get something like รƒโ€šร‚ยฃ0.43/0.002=รƒโ€šร‚ยฃ215.00 Contribution/machine hr and รƒโ€šร‚ยฃ0.22/0.008=รƒโ€šร‚ยฃ27.50 per hr - or was that just me?

    I got that too...so either we both passed or both failed! i found the exam quite easy...there wasn't anything that made me want to run out crying!

    Hi amada,
    I thought a lot of people would be on as well. Some still have exams to do maybe that's why or the papers were easier. Last June when i did ECR, the forums where flooded with complaints.(passed though) It seems that the Examiner made it easier this time, judging by the comments on the forums. I just did PEV (thechnician) this morning. the first section was horrible. but the second part was okay. I now have FRA and Cash Management left to do. What a week!!!.
    ps You need to love ECR to be able to stomach PEV and PCR!!!!!! The knowledge is so important.

    Found exam ok on the whole, thought it similar to June exam. Fluffed the limiting factor question again! Anyone have any idea o the pass mark for this one??

    Hmm I didn't think it was too bad, I also got the same answers as Frank for that question so hopefully its the correct one :). I finished in around 1 hr 15 mins but I then went over the entire paper again for an hour before I finally left.....

    Now the simulation....

    Hi all

    I found the exam fairly straight forward as well - there were quite a few bits which were similar to past papers. The only wierd bit was some of the calculations were wierd answers but I got the same as above so I'm thinking I did ok.

    Sorry to those who have more exams but thank god its over now - good luck for the rest of the week, at least we can all have a weekend off hopefully yippee!!!

    Did anyone have to do any roounding up on the cost allocation question ?
    I had rent 22400/ nbv 1200 = 18.6666666.

    Rent would have been better allocated over floor space than the NBV of fixed assets, so not many would have had that rounding issue - sorry!

    I found the exam, okay, pretty positive I passed, had the 0.002 and 0.008 which were then worked back in for the contribution but only remember it as they seemed odd figures and had to check everything! Took about an hour and a half, but the mocks were taking an hour, so I was more diligent during the real exam.

    I guess there is less chatter on the forums as many have the FRA today, or December just sees less taking the exam. I am home study, so did FRA in June and ECT in December. Have the skills test to do in a week, then have to do Unit 7 in 2006 and Intermediate level is over!

    Hi Amanda

    So how on earth do you find all the time to stay busy on this board and the MSN group!

    I have my sim on the 14th, have not even looked at a practive paper yet, but all the groundwork was done on the exam, so hoping this holds me in good stead. I could not leave the sim to January and worry about it over Christmas!

    Don't you mean depreciation was done by NBV not rent which did give you 18.6666 rounding issue - it was something like depreciation I can't quite remember now but I know rent was seperate and done by floor area. I just kept multiplying by the full number and wrote all my workings down as I thought it gave the most sensible answer. Either way as long as it added up to the total rounded or not I think you would be ok.

    My first part of the exam was pretty simple - thought i cruised it with near to perfect results. When i got to Part Two - it was touchy ground -- hard to say how I did. How did you allocate the 2100 hours? What were your Margin Safety as percentages? How did you get your variable values for 12000 and 14000 ? Did you simply divide the variable values of the 10000 to get the unit prices and then apply that to the proposed increase of 12k and 14k? Then did the fixed costs remain constant? I kept my fixed costs constant then applied as suggested above?

    Not too sure!! I hope i do not need to do that again!

    Which is harder: PEV or PCR? I need to know what to start studying over Christmas first! Anyway, from reading all the comments so far, most people think that they have passed ECR. We must be a pretty clever bunch really....

    First of all did you show your workings - ie did you show that you have multiplied by 100% (saying that i dont think i showed workings on that bit). If you did then you would probably get a mark for it.

    Also the figures you stated are the figures before you mutliply by 100 therefore it might be seen from the markers eyes that you forgot to mutliply by anything. Im sure you will not be the only one who forgot to multiply by 100 and you wont be the last. You will not fail just because you forgot that.

    Also just as a little pointer - incase you didnt know that if your calculator has % button then you just do the figure divid by the other and instead of equals press the % and it does the multipcation for you.

    Im sure you will have passed if thats all your worried about on your exam paper.

    Thanks for that, i cant remember if i did show workings for that question or not.

    I totally fluffed the payback question and the last task with the explanation needed, my mind just went blank.

    Its annoying cos the first section i thought was ok, but when you need competence in both sections .....

    Its just such a long wait from now till feb, but never mind.

    Yeah i got this too Frank, phew!

    Thought the ECR went ok, better than the mock i did anyways!! :o/
