i sat an exam today at college and there was sooo much noise, can you believe there was a dance class in the room above!! boom boom boom all morning.
And to make matters worse the adjudicators were talking right behind my desk, so annoying. I need quiet to concentrate so i walked out, had enough. I am so annoyed, does anyone know how to put in a complaint to the AAT about an assessment centre?

    Hi Charlie.

Sorry your exam was a bit of a trial.

Click on 'Students', 'Your Centre', 'Complaints Procedure'.

If you want to complain do it immediately, it's no use waiting 'til you get notification of failure.

    Best wishes, Scott.

Cant believe they were talking right behind you!
Like you, I need it quiet. When I did my exam, there was the odd bit of noise outside, but it was pretty quiet.

How far through the exam did you walk out?

Thats disgusting. Hope you manage to get your complaint resolved adequately.

On a somewhat lighter note (but still showing how pants some assessment centres can be) the invigilator for my PCR exam yesterday (at Bedford College) actually told us we couldn't use calculators...... That was until she realised what a goof she'd made and it was PROGRAMMABLE calculators...

There were some worried faces for a while though !!

I walked out about about 10.30, got to the CGT bit and understand the questions kinda wrote things down but i probably blew it tbh, once you can here a noise you just sorta hone in on it and can you think about anything else but that noise! no

anyhow done now nothing i can do it. have e-mailed a complaint to the AAt and they said they will contact me after xmas as the admin person is 'on holiday' how nice.

cant believe they said no calculators thats like 'get a brain'! ha

    Re:complaints procedure???

    Sorry to hear that Charlie2.

I have learnt over the years that exams are just noisy for me - on top of the awful cramped conditions - all that frantic jabbing at calculators and noise from other rooms - so I take earplugs with me to every exam.

It doesn't block out everything but it stops me from being distracted.

I would recommend the yellow foam earplugs you can buy in the chemists to everyone.
