Recent CM&CC Skills Test

Hi
Has anyone done the CM&CC Skills test recently and, if so, how did you find it? My college mate and I both found it really hard but don't know how much of this was due to bad/incomplete teaching. We were taught cash flows mainly and told Credit Control was "just common sense". We didn't even get any practise papers. We feel very let down since we have had no problems before and both have financial experience.

    Did it yesterday. I thought it was ok but I would have preferred more calculations and less memos.

    Hi

    I hate to admit to this but I failed my sim on two questions. I have had to do some additional questions sent to me by my training provider, I'm distance learning. I'm not normally dense, past June 05 DFS and BTC first time, so I dont know what happened to my brain.

    Everyone has always said how easy it is but I struggled as well. I thought a lot of the questions just didnt make sense or didnt give enough information.

    I wonder if we all do the same paper or if they are different depending on who you study with?

    I haven't seen "Sleepy Hollow" so can't comment. We had a practise paper called "Eatit". Sorry.

    I did it just before Christmas and found it unusual, nothing like the practise papers I had done. I failed the last question on contracts and so had to do extra work on it, but have now passed it, but it was definitely an exam that left you wondering whether you had passed or not.

    Is it me?? I'm getting even more confused as my last question was on aged debtors, not on contracts. My test used a wallpaper co. scenario. It looks like there are a number of different tests out there, I suppose to stop cheating as we sit them at different times. Still, its reassuring to know this test is not necessarily as "easy" as previously stated. Thanks for you replies.

    Sat the CMCC simulation last week. Far more writing of memos than I was expecting, however had never seen a previous paper so nothing to go on. Only two questions actually involved figures.

    I sat mine before xmas and thought it was not too bad apart from the first question which was on discounts. We did not do much of this in class and it threw everyone. I thought I had really messed up though as memos are not my strong point but my waffle seemed to worked as I passed it!

    Hi all
    Just heard today that my friend and I (and most of our class) passed after all! :lol: We had all been wondering as we had lots of different answers. We can only assume that there is no single right answer for many memo tasks. You just have to back up your decisions with sound/sensible reasons.Also, you are allowed to make a number of mistakes(up to 4?)in the cashflow task and still be competent. Some other mistakes can be corrected/redone afterwards and yet still pass.
    I thought this might reassure those of you who've not done it yet. If you REALLY mess up, our college lets you try again with a new paper.
    We're now doing Financial DFS and Costing PEV!

    Hi Katerina,

    Got my CM&CC simulation Thursday, I think if you take your time with it and think about what you need to do (like Sleepy Hollow) its quite easy.

    Whats DFS like?

    Hi Pele

    I agree that CMCC is relatively easy (compared to the other units). DFS is another matter - did it last summer and it was absolutely hateful, lots of information to learn SSAP's and FRS's.
