    i could be wrong but is it asking how a computerised accounts systems works eg one entry and its posts to multiple accounts
    and for the output it could be the reports produced eg trail balance, aged debtors etc?

    Well thats an enormous question then. I worked in software support for 6 years in accounting software and we used to have hundreds of pages of documentation for each product.

    I suppose you could get the basics on the financials side down to a few thousand, was there a particular area in mind you were stuck on Cloe?

    wow big question!

    Ive just done this but on a degree.

    The systems would include:

    Purchase Ledger
    Sales Ledger
    Nominal Ledger
    Payroll
    Bank Rec
    Fixed Asset Register

    & maybe?
    Stock Control
    Purchase Order Processing
    Sales Order Processing
    Cost Accounting System
    EDI & online transactions.

    Would have to cover outputs from each system and as inputs to the others, and the manual components i.e. document flows and preparation of documents prior to entry and afterwards.

    Flowcharts make such an analysis particularly swotty.

    Maybe also an analysis of why have a computer system.
