Has Anyone Attended Any Courses Run By Inland Revenue

Hi

I am attending a course next week on setting up limited companies and another one at the end of the month on CIS.

Just wondering if anyone could tell me how long they last approx so I can sort it out with work? and if you found the courses useful?

    Hi

    I went to their CIS course prior to christmas. It lasted about 2Hrs and did not find it useful at all.
    I didn't know anymore when I came out to when I went in and the person taking the course didn't have a clue.
    Since then I have learn't more from other accountants
    and I am going on a CIS course later this month.

    I hope your experience is better than mine.

    They're astonishingly boring but I did get a nice free pen at the one I went to.

    And they have a decent coffee machine too :lol:

    I have also been on the Inland Revenue CIS Seminar and it is very basic.

    I have also been on several seminars run by National Construction College. I find these are very good. What they try to also help with is to ensure that you are not caught by the Inland Revenue for incorrect status of you subcontractors, and how you can easily avoid this by simple terms in contracts.

    If any one is interested in these then let me know and I can pass the number on for the college.
