Confused with where to start

Hi all,
I've just received my distance learning course from the ftc (diploma) and there are two books for unit 30- study text and work book. I assume that I just start reading through the study text and then answer the questions in the workbook for that particular chapter?
Also, just wondering how many hours I should be putting into this, bearing in mind that I've only just started (certificate) and I am taking my exam in june.
Cheers

Re:Confused with where to start
hi Jay, it depends what you can fit in really, if you're working or not. I try and fit in around 1-2 hours a day although some days I do more and other days I do nothing! As long as you're getting some work done at a steady pace I wouldnt worry too much. They'll soon tell you if you need to up the pace or if you're going too fast! Just read through each chapter ann when you feel confident attempt the pratice questions. The more practice you do the easier the simulations and exams are. Aim for an hour a day to start with!
try downloading some help and practice questions from the documents section of

Hope that helps!0 -
Re:Confused with where to start
Hi Jay,
I was told by FTC in the student handbook/study guide to work through the study text and to leave the workbook as revision for the exam - but it really is up to you how you work it.
If you don't understand a Chapter and the Activity questions, maybe do some of the relevant workbook questions to try and help you.
The tutors are really good and if you get stuck or need more assistance on how you should be tackling it, they will be able to give you assistance.
A good point is to plan your work study thoroughly. This has really helped me as I can get easily distracted and leave it a few days if I haven't got a timetable. Work out how may Chapters you have to get through and how long you want for revision and work how many weeks you have till the exam & split it up.
Good luck

Re:Confused with where to start
Thanks for the advice.
A quick question: Say I fail my exam in June, can I just put in for the december exam? Will FTC charge me for failing and re-taking?

Re:Confused with where to start
FTC won't charge you for resitting an exam. All you will have to pay is the exam fee to AAT.
