Is emailing another student your portfolio/project allowed - or is this classed as potential copying?

I'm not sure, I've been thinking that too. I think if you sent someone your work and they submitted it as they're own you both get into a lot of trouble.

    Hi

The forum terms and conditions were amended a while back due to copies of technican projects flying around (someone even offered copis for sale!).

TI think the AAT should extend the specific term and condition to all work and not just the project.

My understanding is that you MUST state in your work if you have obtained any information from another source, ie a website, or another student etc.

Yes, I seem to agree with Neil H on this one. It does seem a bit naughty that you are able to send copies of your project to another student in a different part of the country and they can just copy it out.

I know I would feel foolish if I'd done all that work and then gave others an easy life just so they could copy it out!

    Not to worry I suppose!

    Kind regards

I agree with Neil H too, i think it is wrong that others can copy your work. At the end of the day they are only fooling themselves thinking that they have done the work on their own merits when infact its the work of others.

I am not the brightest spark in the fire but at least i know what i have done is my own efforts.

    Sorry just having a moan..............!

    Regards

Yeah exactly, why should someone do all their own work and then send it to someone on good intentions but they just copy it. But then again the people who just copy will show themselves up in the exam when they don't know what they are doing!

    Re:Copying

There was/is 2 people that spring to mind on here that are/where offering the portfolio for others to view.

I was really naughty and asked for a copy - edited it and then returned it to the sender saying - Thanks, I will now submit this as my own work.

I have already done the said units and therefore was trying to make the person realise how easy it is for someone to steal their hard work and send it into AAT. Both parties will get into trouble - as there is no way to prove who's work it really is....

When I started my MSN groups I did bring this up - and was advised NOT to share my work. I have therefore uploaded documents "How to do a portfolio" and "what can i included in my portfolio" and sugguested evidance - Not showing my own work!!

I would advise anyone NOT to give our copies of your work - help them by explaining how to do it!!
