Hi,
I have failed in section 2 of PCR, which is unexpected. I am thinking of appealing against it. Would like to know whether there is anyone who has appealed against any result before and got a favourable decision.
Is there anyone else appealing against PCR result?
Babu

Re:Appeal PCR
Hi Babu.
We had a few learners had their results changed to a pass on appeal.

Re:Appeal PCR
Hi Babu,
I sympathise. I failed both, PEV I knew I had failed, I desperately need the loo and could'nt leave the room, I did'nt finish the paper! But PCR I never had any doubt that I would not pass. When I read unsuccessful I nearly fell out my chair! I have considered appealing but not sure what the situation is.

Re:Appeal PCR
Hi Scotty,
I was confident that i will pass. Do you think chances of getting a favourable decision depends on how many students appealing aginst PCR result?
Babu0 -
Re:Appeal PCR
Hi Babu.
Don't think it matters how many appeal.
They will just get a different examiner to mark your paper and see if the mark is the same.

Re:Appeal PCR
Hello Scott
How do we go about appealling? Who should I contact?
thanks

Re:Appeal PCR
Hi Heidi,
Email appeals@aat.org.uk. They will send you the appeal form and then you appeal with a fee of รยฃ39, refundable if you get a favourable decision.

Re:Appeal PCR
Hi folks.
If they change your decision, i believe they refund you appeal fee.
Also, you won't have to pay for a resit!

Re:Appeal PCR
MESSAGE FOR RUBIO.
You are allowed to leave the room for a toilet visit - if your centre refused to let you, you could consider complaining.

Re:Appeal PCR
I'm not sure what you mean - If I pay for an appeal and they don't change my grade - then I don't have to pay for a resit?

Re:Appeal PCR
Hi Heidi,
If you are successful after appeal, then AAt will refund your appeal fee. But if they think you are still unsuccessful, then you don't get back the appeal fee .

Re:Appeal PCR
Hi Scott,
I asked for a vigilator when I needed the loo, I was refused. I realise now I should have complained!

Re:Appeal PCR
I really don't know what to do!!! I think I may appeal.
I was confused by Scott's comment that if i pay for an appeal then I wouldn't have to pay for a resit if I still haven't passed?0 -
Re:Appeal PCR
Heidi.
I said: "If they change your decision".

Re:Appeal PCR
I think he's a little confused
If you appeal and the decision is changed to a pass you don't have to retake the exam again, well surely not, a pass is a pass!

Re:Appeal PCR
As i said to someone yesterday - we all get snowed under sometimes!
The important thing is that people know how to appeal if they want to.

Re:Appeal PCR
Hi,
I thought I had passed my PEV (final exam) and was gutted to read *unsuccessful*. I am going to appeal, even if they don't change my result (which i hope they do) at least i will get some feedback.

Re:Appeal PCR
Hi, I was gutted last year when I was told I had failed ECR. I did appeal as I was sure I hadn't failed. My new tutor advised me not to, but my old ECR tutor fully supported me. I paid the รยฃ39 fee and got a response within 2 weeks that the AAT had indeed made a mistake whilst marking mine. It is worth appealing if you are sure you have passed. I unfortunately have PCR exam to face in June!! Good luck.0 -
Re:Appeal PCR
Hi I was just reading this discussion and think what Scott meant was that if you appeal and your result is changed then you get the รยฃ39 refunded and then you wouldn't have to resit the exam because you will have passed.
However if the result was not changed and you do need to resit you will have to pay for the resit.0 -
Re:Appeal PCR
Hi Kitty Kat.
That is exactly what i meant!!

Re:Appeal PCR
I failed part 2 of PCR but am going request feedback but need to speak to tutor first :?0 -
Re:Appeal PCR
After sitting the PCR for a second time I came awary from the exam confident that I would pass. Last time I past section two and failed section which I did know when I came away from the exam June. This time I past section one and failed section two so technical I have past as I have shown Competence in both sections. But aside from that I do feel that I passed both sections this time. It would be nice to get feedback and have the answers to check and I am thinking about appealing against the result.
I will consider it over the weekend.0 -
Re:Appeal PCR
I have also failed PCR on section 2; I thought that if I failed this exam it would have been on section 1. I spoke to my tutor today and showed her the paperwork for appeals, I didnรขโฌโขt think that it is that clear if you go for remarking the paper, and i still fail, :?: will I get feed back as to where I went wrong??? Can anyone give me an answer?0 -
Re:Appeal PCR
I am applying for feedback as i failed section 2 of pcr and my tutor says feedback is very detailed but I may just go the whole way and go for appeal anyway :twisted:0 -
Re:Appeal PCR
Hi Scottishpussycat,
When you appealed against your ECR result, did AAT deduct Appeal fee รยฃ39 & then refunded it back later when they changed thier decision. Or did they returned the cheque (without encashing it).

Re:Appeal PCR
Put it this way if you are considering appealing;
If you dont try then you wont know....
It depends how close you think you came and how much you want to keep the money (they dont cash the cheque till you have definitely failed by the way)
I appealed and I passed, how glad do you think I am that I did?
Even if you dont pass then it will set your mind at rest and you will get feedback as to why you didnt pass.
I say DO IT!
