Microsoft has now launched MS Office Accounting! Whilst most of us are probably familiar with what sort of quirks you get in new MS applications, it may prove an affordable option for some who want simple accounting software - there is even a free download of the basic version!

Although it will be a relatively basic accounts application, it does seem to have been quite well thought out:
integrates with office
add-ins, eg paypal, this is likely to include future services
link to your accountant

& in the US, it is also included in some of the ms office packages, small business, professional & ultimate.
if they do this packaging elsewhere, could give quicken, sage etc some heavy competition in the home office/small business space

My son is planning to study accounts at A level, so he is going to have a look at it.
