Bank Rec - Good Project Idea?

I am thinking of doing my project based on automating our Bank Reconciliation. At the moment I manually do this....i.e tick of each entry on the statement and match it to the Bank a/c nominal.

I think there is a facility available on our accounting system, which would allow this to be done automatically, but no-one has done this or knows how to do it.

So, I thought I could base my project on automating this procedure......this way I can find out if it can be done and hopefully start using it....it would save me a lot of time every month.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this as a topic?
Has anyone ever done there project on this before.

I think this is a good idea and meets the report criteria.

We had our briefing at college about possible topics this Wednesday. As a bank reconciliation is an accounting system itself it is a suitable topic. It will also give you plenty to talk about in terms of how computerising the system will make the job more efficient etc.
