Oppurtunities for Business Accountants

I'm due to finish my AAT this summer and I'm wondering what oppurtunites are available for me.
It seems that if you work in practice, unless you have experience in there, you can't apply for their trainee chartered accountancy posistions unless you have a degree - the AAT isn't good enough.
Are there any similar oppurtunites but for AAT members who want to work in business not practice? Or are their practices that accept the AAT as a suitable alternative for a degree?
