what does part qualified mean?

what constitutes a part qualified accountant? i often see jobs saying part qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) wanted etc etc...
at what point can you call yourself part qualified?

As far as I am aware, you are a part qualified accountant when you have completed the intermediate level of CIMA, ACCA etc.
It can be slightly open to intepretation, but that's certainly the most common assumption I have heard of it and every employer I have worked for has also used this assumption.0 -
If I were interviewing applicants who were 'part-qualified', I would assume they were at least two-thirds of their way through their course.
That would indicate a commitment to their career, any less and they may not finish.0
