Another day another scam e-mail. Not only do these people send out phishing mails to people who don't have an account with the supposed bank but they also purport to be a personal message about your account despite having a couple of dozen recipients.
How dumb would you have to be to fall for that?
They probably make a fortune from it.

Me neither, but I have had a bit of good luck though, apparantly I have been traced as a direct descendant of a Nigerian General who has died and all his vast wealth now falls to me.
Funny old world, eh, I thought we were Irish?
I am just saving up for the £5,000 administration fees and then I will be rich, rich beyond my wildest dreams...........0 -

I reckon I've been offered 30 million pounds since Christmas by people acting on behalf of other people who have died and have no relatives and want me to have it.0
-
I've won the Canadian Lottery a few times too...pity I couldn't afford the £50 admin fee.0

Me? Naaah...
Everybody gets those emails. I got one the other day entitled 'Make it reach your knees'. If I was a cad and a bounder, I'd make a joke about it being nice to have a few inches off - but I'm not, so I won't.0 -

Fortunately, most fraud attempts are pretty unsophisticated so a bit of common sense and following a few basic rules (e.g. don't use the same username/password for logging in here as you use for financial dealings) are generally enough to keep you safe. Unfortunately, there are quite enough people without common sense on the internet to keep the fraudsters quite happy. A fool and his money are soon parted and there's a sucker born every minute.0 -
There is a formula noted somewhere about if only 1% of people who are sent these emails reply the fraudsters still make £££££0
-
I've just been offered a 25% share of $24.5m!
Apparently, all the guy wants is name and address. If he'd had any sense he would've also asked for my date of birth and a random four digit security code of my choice so future conversations would be more secure...
Still, it may be his first time!:001_tt2:0 -

I am fine thank you......yes! looking forward to the weekend, how is he studying comming along?
Slowly but getting there, just waiding through loads of past papers doing ECR its just all the formulas and report writing thats troubling me a bit but be glad when i can take the summer off:001_smile: (well apart from doing unit 10 to get it out the way)
How about you? are you doing exams this time?0 -
No...thankfully all passed.
Good luck with yours.....the report writing...just try and keep short and to the point...you really have to try and learn in your own words the effect that the formula's have on the Accounts/Business.
I am sure you will be fine hun.........no other way to learn than to just keep doing past papers...over and over...
Take care....it is not for ever and you will get to the end......and a nice certificate.
I will be thinking of you.

The tutor I have contacted recently at Kaplan who has been not bad is now going off on maternity leave on the 12th of June just to make life more interesting.
Taskey with you being in Germany who are you using for Unit 10? Is it easy to get hold of the one tutor or do you have to send a generic email or call and hope for the best?
Please PM me0 -
hi pam
i am using bpp and i have got in contact with a tutor called emma axon. she is fab. she also coached me through 22 and 23 so i knew she was good.
i had heard that she did unit 10 from pigpen on here, so i emailed her in the hope she could tutor me. she asked BPP and they agreed.
i had to pay £60 before she would do officially do anything, but i emailed her my proposal and she said it was good so i then paid bpp and went from there.
Hope that helps
