I went to Glastonbury this year, have been to V and Reading before too.
Glastonbury is by far the best.. already looking forward to next year, the 40th anniversary!
Best acts this year was Prodigy.0 -
aw i really wanted to go glastonbury. But it was too close 2 exams.
Is it really really muddy?
I want to go download festival0 -
Glastonbury is about a week and a half after the AAT exams, perfect timing!
It wasn't too muddy, I actually got a really nice tan as the sun was shining so much!0 -
sorry i meant download. It was 12th - 14th June. First exam was 15th!
You actually saw sunny weather!
Impossible!
How much where ur tickets?0 -
Tickets were 175, which sounds pretty pricey but the amount of acts which were playing made it well worth it and we were there for 5 days.0
-
Off to reading in three weeks wooooohoooo
Last year did reading and V, year before that did download and before that did Leeds.
Am an addict cant get enough.
next year doing the spanish one0 -
aw how was download? Was that the year that guns n roses was there?0
-
No it was the year Iron Madien played 2007 it was brill saw loads of bands weather was great loved it.
Glas never appealed to me tho0 -
Did you get squished?
Been to loads of gigs but never a festival.
Aside from pics i dont knw wat its like.
Hope download doesnt interfear with my exams next year0 -

Doesnt appeal to me personally, festivals I mean. I would probably enjoy it if i went but would never even consider spending £175 to go to one
Well if you work it out on average your paying 10p per band and accomadation thrown in.
Went right in the crowd sounds so much better that way but avoided the mosh pit (not that brave )
Unfortunatley its always in June, why not give Leeds or reading a try?0 -
-
I was contemplating going to the Brecon festival....but decided against it...to be honest i love music but dont like large crowds so probably wouldnt feel comfortable0
-
-
yeah but the problem is if you have a seat then you have to pay an extortionate price for your tickets0
-
for a festival?
If ur just going to a gig then the prices are alright0 -
whats the going rate for a gig these days then in the uk?0
-
depends which venue and who ur watching i guess.
Watched staind in Jan at manchester Academy £15
Nickelback in May at MEN Arena £30ish
Watching U2 at Wembley next fri £75
It varies a lot
i think the more well known bands tho is around £30
Watching Pink and Greenday in October at MEN Arena, both around £300 -
thats not to bad i guess, i thought they would be up around the 100 mark, I would probably pay £30 to go and watch an artist i like0
-
I would gladly pay £75 if I never had to hear or see U2 ever again.0
-
-
U2 have come out with some legendary sounds.....but in all fairness have come out with some shite aswell :001_tongue:0
-
ive got 2 agree with that. Their new album is good but the old stuff is better0

Completely agree with you there Chris. Kinda embarrassing that 49 year old Bono still seriously believes he can identify with "the kids of today" yet most of 'em don't know who the frick he is and care even less for his music, politics, causes etc...
The Joshua Tree a classic? Was always just a load of bipolar b*llocks to me.0 -

will let u know wat the young people think of him when i see them next week.
Who are u into then?0 -
My first festival was ZZ Top, Marillion, Bon Jovi (before they were huge), Metallica (one of their first ever gigs in the UK), Ratt and Magnum. Castle Donnington, August 1985, cost about £13 for the ticket.
Stuff I'm currently listening to; Machine Head, Kasabian, Opeth, AC/DC, Phantom of the Opera OST.0 -
Love Bon Jovi and metallica.
AC/DC, Kasbian and Opeth.
As for the rest :thumbdown::thumbdown:0 -
Well Marillion (who I hated) were a bit like an SS stormtrooper appearing at a barmitzvah, but the rest were okay.
And how can you like Metallica and Opeth but not Machine Head, the singer of whom sounds like he's just massacred an entire village by hand?0 -
