computer based exams versus paper based

Hi
Has anyone had any experience of taking computer based exams instead of the paper based ones that are taken twice a year?
Im due to take the FRA and ECR in December but am wondering whether to take the computer based ones instead. I understand that you get a provisional pass/fail at the time of taking them so you have an idea how you've done and you only have to wait a week for the results instead of 8-10 weeks. My only worry is that if part of my revision involves using the previous exam papers to practice the exam, how would I revise for the computer based exam if I am only using paper based previous exams to practice.
Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated, confused from Bexley.

dont know if i like that, as i like to scribble down. i think it will be better as you wont have to wait for results, as you get a provisional result that day

i know ive heard that they are bringing this into effect. wish they had that when started because i reckon i could of taken the exams earlier and done the whole thing in 2 years !!0

I just tried it out on the link given, doing the IAC that I've just taken this June. I actually found it easier than I thought. I wonder if they give you scrap paper as I think I would need it, especially for correction of entries. If they give you that I think I will go for the computer based exam next time.0

OK, so I'm really sad but I think I might actually do one of these when I've got an hour or so spare.0

and how do you reckon you would do then CJC?0

I think in the blurb on the page it says that you can use rough paper for any workings on the exams.0

Well I'm not doing too well I can't even get off the first page :blushing: how do I open it0

I think anything more than PLB and I'd be struggling, I don't do much accountancy these days apart from the bits and pieces I use in running my business.0

well sounds like its a lot easier than drawing up the "t" accounts and mapping the p&l and bs ?0 -
Do you start talking to yourself once you spend a certain amount of time on here?

Does anyone know if you have to get 100% on CBE. How do they set pass mark if you are told result straight away. I have had a look and some of it seems easier than the paper version on first impressions.0

i shouldnt think the pass rate is going to be much different from the papers because if it was a lot higher then surely moer people wouold just take the paper exams...0

I have opened your link to access the practice CBEs but where on the actual site do you find the info on them.0
-
well i dont think you should be able to take as many as you want....every 15minutes.....im sure even if you didnt know much at all that eventually you would pass by pure guess work?0
