I always had to ask for scribbly paper when I needed it so far.

And you're supposed to hand them in at the end, but I would suggest if you use scribbly paper to just scribble around in pen, as at least you can't forget to swap over to your pen...

I always use pen's only in the exams (except for graphs) as I have taken exams a long time ago (different country) where anything written in pencil or in the wrong colour was just not marked at all. One of my fellow students actually wrote their whole exam in pencil by accident and ended up with no points at all, as they just treated it as a blank paper.

Anyways, I'd say bring a pencil, I think it says it needs to be written in permanent ink, but it doesn't say anything about what you use on scribbly paper. If your invigilator decides you're not allowed to use the pencil, you still got a pen around...

Which reminds me, I need to borrow another black pen from work for my exam, because this one has less than 1/4 of it's ink left!

Anna, Are you telling people to use PENCILS?.........or are you having a dig cause you used them for DFS but we are not allowed! lol

Oh dear ...... no Julie, I wasn't telling you to use pencils, I wasn't trying to rub salt into the 'no pencil/tippex wound' created by the lovely, kind, thoughtful people of the AAT

I was just mentioning what I did.

I think if you do write anything in pencil on your script they'll just pretend it isn't there, won't they???

Or will they stop marking it because is is forever tainted with lead?????

I have re-named my pencil case, it is now a NON PENCIL CASE

Incidentaly I was told I couldn't have more paper in the ECR exam when I asked. Invigilator said everything should go in the answer booklet, it was a tight fit for me - I write alot! I think they had 'over enthusiatic invigilator disease'.

I also think that's garbage about not writing in the first 15 minutes!!!

I cant help but think I am quite odd in comparison to everyone else. Passed all my exams so far (only 2 more to do), never been any longer than 1 hour and a half (infact I think one I left just about the hour mark). I also never do any workings in the paper provided, maybe just the occasional scrawl here and there, I also dont use my reading time, just get down and do it. Quite funny really when I come out, my tutor looks like she is going to have a fit coz I have finished so fast but never had any problems yet. You watch though, my last sitting this June I bet you something goes wrong now!!! I dont think it is all that much of a good thing to be allowed to leave. I am really bad for not checking my work, whereas if I actually had to sit there I would be double checking and triple checking just to pass the time!

    Hi SLM,

You say that you never do any workings in the paper provided. Do you mean you dont show any workings at all cause AAT always stress that it is extremely important to show your workings?

No sorry what I mean it some people use the extra blank pages provided to scribble down things and do their workings, I do show my workings in the actual answer, so if I am wrong at least I can show what I have done. But I dont use all the extra paper and stuff...
