I think we'll need to start a dieting thread in a couple of weeks:(
Slimming World is good, just doesnt give you the willpower to not eat a whole tub of choc icecream in one sitting and some crisps a bit later, and some jaffa cakes and some revels later on either. A weekend of revision for me has equalled about 4 more inches on me thighs me thinks but at least the PTC and BTC are starting to sink in.0 -

I was like that on Saturday. Had a Bacon Roll for Lunch followed by a pkt of crisps then a Galaxy, then an Ice-Cream Mallow Wafer (call them Sliders but not sure if everyone does), then another pkt of crisps, then a bit of Cheesecake...................then it was Tea-time. So I had my Tea.............followed by more Crisps and Marshmallows dipped in melted Chocolate Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Studying is defo not good for your health!0 -
Hey you lot. Stop it. Just reading this thread is making me feel hungry now and I don't want my PEV/PCR exams visibly displayed as excess lbs on my bum!
Perhaps I should haunt the Weight Watchers forum instead???FMAAT - AAT Licensed Member in Practice - Pewsey, Wiltshire0 -
No, best not to join the weight watcher forums instead of this one!
For starters we would miss you....
But as for the dieting . I got sandwiches with cheese and cucumber and I'm happy to share/ trade if you want a healthy bite! Especially after reading all that, I just want something unhealthy now!0 -

With the study the brain needs some food too!0 -

i heard the same about chocolate so of course i have to follow there advise
Oh Vic, you're so knowledgeable - I didn't know that! Thank you so much for the heads up, I'd better go and get some chocolate immediately, gone now, bye (or buy?)FMAAT - AAT Licensed Member in Practice - Pewsey, Wiltshire0 -
Bye and buy I would say...
Usually when studying I got some chocolate or healthy vegetables waiting, depending if it's the weekend or not, but there got to be something to keep my brain going!0 -
I am seriously thinking of not sittting the MAC exam on Monday.
Budgets - I'm ok with most of the time as long as I read the question properly.
Ratios - I can remember about 2/3 of them, just need to remember the rest but rubbish at interpreting them.
Variances - am ok apart from struggle with F OH efficiency variance, and sometimes have difficulty knowing which figures to pick out of the info supplied to use for variances, it depends which format they've give it to us, if it's budget and actual activity I'm fine.
As for anything else I know just bits and feel I haven't a cat in hells chance of getting enough marks to pass. Does anyone else feel the same? I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle.0 -
Hi Jilt
Even if you really feel like you're not there, you don't stand a chance of passing if you don't sit the exam, whereas you do stand a chance if you go for it, even if you think you're a no hoper you don't need to get 100% to pass!!!
You've got absolutely nothing to lose by trying - you've already paid for the exam so your money has gone anyway!!!
Nobody on here will judge you if you don't pass, we all know what you're going through as we're all in the same boat.
You do know loads of the stuff you need to, just concentrate on the areas that are causing you problems; I've got to work on Fixed Overhead variances before Monday, as I still screw those up and I'm rubbish at the reporting tasks too.FMAAT - AAT Licensed Member in Practice - Pewsey, Wiltshire0 -
I know you're right Annie and thanks for your comments, I just can't concentrate this morning, I'd go for a walk to clear my head but it's raining :sad:0
-
I'm about to go out too ... it's really muggy here this morning and I need some fresh air, plus I can't concentrate either.
Put on a waterproof coat and some wellies and go out anyway - you'll feel refreshed even if it is raining.
I'm off to get some pens for my exams - have decided which ones produce 'best writing under stress' during the week, so going to get a couple more in case they all run out in exams!FMAAT - AAT Licensed Member in Practice - Pewsey, Wiltshire0 -
Wise words but think I'll just have to get wet lol , have come into the office with my OH and have sandals and a jacket.0
-
For the interpreting of the ratios and such, the AAT has something on their website (in the studyzone for the specific exams) which says something about how to interpret the ratios.
The file itself doesn't explain what the ratios are, but does show what the assessor expects to see in the report for type of comments. Like not saying the % went up with 2% but also trying to explain why it went up. It's really not much special and don't expect too much from it, but silly enough after reading that, it clicked a bit more in what to write for me.
Have you tried reading that one?
You probably think I'm stupid now, but for some reason it did the trick for me!0 -
Thanks for that Rinske, I'll have a look now.0
-
jilt, i have done the same as you are thinking and not gone to the exams. i have then looked at the paper and thought "do you know what i could have done that" and i have kicked myself for not going.
just go and do your best. at least it is the morning/afternoon off work, and treat yourself to nice brew afterwards.,
you never know, you might pass lol

It's torture sitting at work today. I just want to go home and study!
Or at least study. I got the feeling there is so much more to do and so little time...0 -

I know exactly waht you're saying and would give exactly the same advise myself lol
Every now and again I just think I don't want to put myself through all this torture and then fail the damn thing. Have got enough grief in with other things at the moment.
Anyway have been out for a greasy breakfast as hadn't eaten anything and will now get back to it.
Thanks guys :001_smile:0 -

Your definately not alone in feeling like this Jilt. I think its the anticipation and worrying whether you've done enough studying, as I feel the same.
Ive been looking at the examiners reports today though and they dont seem to be asking the earth from students (as opposed to my books which can be quite involved at times) and have found that quite helpful in steadying my nerves.0 -
I found the ratio analysis stuff on bized fantastic when I struggled with them for Unit 15.
I have no idea how to post links im afraid but if you google bized ratio analysis you should find it.
Good Luck all0 -
