Slightly less pressure and weekends back!0

Not going to sleep and waking up thinking about work.0

January is a fairly normal working month this year - no stress or overtime (for the first time ever). So, I'm not really looking forward to anything in particular, other than pushing my business on further! I might take a few days off to work on my house and garden.
My challenge for 2012 is to get all my directors' tax returns done first, not last....!!0 -
I've just arranged a week off in Feb to plant a new hedge, I've ordered 300 hawthorne whips, I find it great stress relief to get out and do some manual work
I've got a garden that I may be clearing (If anyone would like some general rubble & hardcore they are more than welcome), weed killing & digging ahead of a small allotment and chickens later in the year!0 -
So far managed to cope with it ok, only 1 return left and due to client been on holiday. So for feb just and come up with new ideas of growing the business.0
-
Still got loads to do at the moment. Am moving to a new office on 1 Feb so trying to get everything sorted for that as well at the moment. I am then taking a weel earned break for a week from the 11th.Regards,

I'm half way there.... haven't felt stressed much at all but I've still been working waaaaaay to many hours!
So looking forward to picking up my daughter from school and seeing my friends again and cooking and getting to level 8 on mousetrap.0 -
I spoke too soon
My one last big job and I can't do it. I actually can't do it. Will be passing it over to a colleague tomorrow, who happens to excel at complex control accounts, which have always been my nemesis. I'm grumpy now!0 -

Sounds nice, I'm also having a small allotment, not quite the family farming tadition, but a start, and no animals!
Good luck Clegg0 -

We have a massive garden split half way by a trellis. Gotta love ex-council houses! Beyond the trellis is perfect for growing as it's is south facing! The plan is to slowly open up the three 'squares' of space year by year so we aren't overloaded. There's a greenhouse as well, which reminds me I need to start my seedlings this weekend!0 -
This is a great thread ... I'm really looking forward to getting out there as well, except that I haven't ordered any seeds yet. Also looking forward to family life getting back to normal, Jodie, I'm fed up with pasta and hardly seeing my children!
Monsoon - control accounts are my nemesis as well; and capital gains - see my other post.
I've been waking up thinking about work as well Clegganator - we definitely all need more fresh air.
Good luck to all those still dealing with the last few awkward ones...

Hip Replacement on 31st January! Will be spending the WHOLE of February stuck at home unable to drive for 6 weeks.
One Tax Return still to file, but the client keeps trying to find more ways of reducing his liability ....... do you have clients like this too????? He knew that I wanted to get if filed by last weekend too, so that I could relax and get ready to go to hospital.FMAAT - AAT Licensed Member in Practice - Pewsey, Wiltshire0 -

Yes, I got one this year. I sent him over his tax bill and he was like - what about all my travel expenses I paid personally? What about this, what about that? I shaved another ยฃ2k off his bill by the time he'd actually dug out loads of things he'd paid for himself.....! And yes, I had previously asked about all of this!!0 -

I'm looking forward to doing my own accounts (not). Computer died in December but everything was backed up - except my stuff.
What does everyone else do with the clients that have gone AWOL?
Good luck with your op Anniem - wishing you a speedy recovery.0 -

Yes Annie, indeed
Sorry to hear about your stuff - I guess backups is a lesson everyone learns at least once!
What did I do with my AWOL clients?
Sent reminder.
Sent reminder.
Got letter from HMRC saying due a refund - had done own return and not contacted me.
Wrote letter.
Moved to ex-client list.0 -
At last count there were 41 unsubmitted! Shock horror.
Of those probably 15 or so were awaiting signatures, all limited companies done and 5 self assessments or so have not yet brought info in.
However there are 2 of us doing them and tomorrow I should at least be able to knock about 9 out, all sole trader accounts have been done - just some awaiting review.
Hopefully that should make the rest of you feel better!0
