Hi can anyone tell me the rules on becoming an MIP and taking on a few clients whilst also being employed full time and paid through PAYE.

There is some guidance on the main AAT website. You will need to be licensed but there are methods of exemption if you have a limited cumber of clients and income.
Some guidance here - https://www.aat.org.uk/membership/about-member-practice-schemeRegards,

You also need to check your contract of employment to see whether there are any restrictions - especially if you work in a practice.0

Hi @Cinderella
You may be interested in taking part in one of our 'Be Your Own Boss' events this year.
Each event will also be recorded as an online webinar so you can watch it back online if you can't attend yourself.
RegardsI have now left AAT. If you require any assistance with the forums, please contact membership support: https://www.aat.org.uk/contact-us0
