Established property maintenance and refurbishment company based in Brixton, London SW2, looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team. Reporting to the Directors and the Accountant directly, this role will be responsible for the following:
- At least 2 years accounting / bookeeping experience required
- Accounts receivable - Creating, sending and chasing invoices and answering invoice queries
- Accounts payable – Checking supplier invoices and paying them according to their terms, escalating to management if any discrepancies arise
- Credit control – managing aged debts and keeping debtor days to a minimum
- Assistance in management accounts preparation ((bank reconciliation, manual journals etc)
- Sales and purchase ledger maintenance
- CIS reporting to the accountant
- Bank reconciliations
- Job and engineer reports
- And some admin work when required
The ideal candidate will have:
• Some previous accounts experience and ideally studying AAT or similar
• Strong communication skills
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Experience with using accounting software Xero is a benefit.
Salary will be dependant on experience, and will be between £18,000 - £20,000pa.
