What are my real options?

Hello all. I've recently started the AAT 2 set of courses. This is something I would have started in Sept 2016, but I was told I'd be made redundant earlier this year, and so I started the course 2 weeks ago. Everything is going well, touch wood, and I'm scoring in the high 90% in my assessments leading up to the exam in May. After reading a few posts on here, I'm wondering, as a 42 year old man, what the chances are realistically of finding decent paid employment in the field of accounts....
