This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to progress a career in the financial administration of externally funded projects.
The University is looking to expand its capacity in post award finance. The current team comprises a Research Grants Manager and two Finance Officers. In addition to research grants and contracts, the team deal with the administration of other external funds.
The post holder will be the key point of contact for research grants and contracts, for academics and for the other professionals who support the University’s research and knowledge transfer activities. It involves the administration, preparation and submission of complex, high value claims, many of which are subject to external audit, as well advising on funder terms and conditions.
You will hold an accountancy qualification, or have equivalent professional experience, and will possess excellent financial reconciliation skills.
The service is busy, customer focused and deadline driven; so the post holder must demonstrate high levels of personal effectiveness, have excellent communication skills and a positive can-do attitude. The post demands a high level of initiative, competence and accuracy. Strong IT skills are essential and you must be able to manage risk and prioritise effectively to meet internal and external deadlines.
