This is a high profile role and a very rare opportunity for an exceptional finance professional to work as the Senior Group Accountant at National Express Group. National Express Group has an excellent reputation within the transport sector and with continued growth, the business is now looking to highlight the expertise of a forward thinking and driven Senior Group Accountant to help support the Group Function.

This is an exciting time to become part of this Global Organisation taking a Key role within the Group Finance Team.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
On-going investigation and implementation of process improvements within Group Finance
Driving change and efficiency including project managing system improvements
Identifying the impact of new accounting standards and project managing changes both for the Group and divisions
Analysing financial information to provide greater insight for senior management
Active line management and team development
Month end tasks and year end reporting
The Successful Applicant
You will be a qualified accountant and have proven and demonstrable experience of working within a senior team, of managing staff and of engaging with and influencing stakeholders at a senior level.
Rigorous but approachable, you will possess excellent communication skills and be experienced at managing projects and driving process change.
Qualification - ACA, ACCA or equivalent
Post-qualification experience of group accounting within industry, or otherwise significant relevant experience within practice.
Technically minded, with a core understanding of IFRS accounting standards
Strong IT skills; Advanced Excel and accounting systems experience.
Highly efficient and with the energy and tenacity to see projects through to completion.
