About Our Client
Crowe Clark Whitehill is a national audit, tax and advisory firm, trusted by hundreds of clients for our head for figures, with eight UK offices. We are also the UK member firm of Crowe Horwath International, a network of 200 firms in over 700 offices. Ranked as the ninth largest global accounting network.
The Cheltenham office, across all specialisms has grown to about 100 people and is still growing. Internal communications within the office and across discipline are very good. Partners are easy to talk to and are always on hand to hear and help anyone who should need it.
Each department has an open plan design, which drives the culture to be friendly and collaborative.
The tax team are particularly helpful and friendly internally as well as working collaboratively with other specialisms, trying to identify value added opportunities for their colleagues.
Ad hoc staff meetings - for which Partners provide lunch! This enables all staff a chance to find out what is going on locally and in the firm nationally. The office has a long standing tradition to raise donations for a charity. They do this by way of dress down on the 'Last Friday of month'. A social committee organises events for staff both inside and outside the office, and are always happy to hear new ideas!

Job Description
The key responsibilities of this Private Client Tax Supervisor based in the historic Cheltenham Office are:
Providing sound tax and tax planning advice, and completion of tax returns for clients, ensuring they receive an excellent level of service
Liaising with clients in writing and in person
Preparing complex tax returns on CCH
Reviewing tax returns completed by more junior members of staff
Drafting letters and e-mails providing tax planning and advice
Researching complex tax issues to assist senior staff members and partners
Training new staff members, as appropriate
Assisting with monthly billing
Keeping up to date with new tax legislation
Areas of expertise in which tax planning and advice are provided:-
Businesses - Capital allowances, tax efficient business structuring, sales/exit planning
High Net Worth Individuals - Family succession planning/IHT, trusts and estates, tax efficient investments (EIS/VCT), general tax mitigation
HMRC Enquiries - Dealing with enquiries with regard to client's tax returns
Capital Gains Tax - CGT deferral using EIS/rollover relief, Entrepreneur's Relief, incorporation relief, land transactions
International Matters - Residency, domicile, remittances, cross border transactions, tax equalisation for expatriate employees
The Successful Applicant
For this Private Client Tax Supervisor based in Cheltenham, Crowe Clark Whitehill are looking for candidates, who:
Want to progress within the firm
Hold responsibility for an advisory portfolio
Competent delivery of service to clients
Competent support to other members of the team, in terms of training, reviewing and
researching.
Previous experience required:
Must have previous UK experience of working within a Tax team
Completion of Tax Returns
Show the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients
What's on Offer
Basic Salary: £30,000-£40,000

Full-time working hours are 37.5 per week. Start/finish times can be flexed, provided core hours of 10:00-16:30 are worked each day
