Catalyst Housing is looking to appoint a Capital Accounting Manager to be based in their West London office.

Job description

This is an important role that reports into the Group Accountant. Being at the forefront of technical excellence and systems maximisation, you will ensure you lead a high performing team that provide specific accounting support to facilitate fantastic financial management, and delivers accurate timely management information.

Key aspects of the role

• Providing strong leadership and direction for direct reports to encourage a culture of continuous improvement and customer focused service
  
• Responsible for all aspects of capital accounting, including taking the lead on producing annual statutory accounts and the audit liaison for this area, including financial statements for the Special Purpose Development Companies
  
• Take the lead on accounting for CHL Development company ensuring VAT efficiency's are achieved and accurate accounting is executed, training the finance and development divisions where appropriate
  
• Overseeing annual capital forecasting and quarterly re-forecasting, liaising with Business Planning and Development budget holders, managing relevant regulatory returns and reporting to the HCA
  
• Working with stakeholders to produce monthly and quarterly reports for the Leadership Team and Board on capital spend, presentation and insightful commentary is paramount
  

Who we're looking for

You will be a qualified accountant with extensive technical experience and the gravitas needed to execute this role. Experience in social housing or other related industries would be ideal. You will have extensive financial accounting knowledge and ideally exposure to capital accounting within the sector, if not then large scale long term capital investment out of sector.
