Rockhopper Exploration plc is an AIM listed, UK based oil and gas exploration and production company with interests in the Falkland Islands, Greater Mediterranean and North Africa.
Rockhopper was established in 2004 to undertake an offshore oil exploration programme and was floated on AIM in August 2005.
In recent years it has grown through the acquisitions of Mediterranean Oil & Gas plc in August 2014, Falkland Oil and Gas Limited in January 2016 and Beach Petroleum (Egypt) Pty Ltd in August 2016.
Headquartered in Central London.
Job Description
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, as Finance Manager you will have the following key responsibilities:
Overseeing and monitoring the output of the Finance Assistant.
Coordination of Group consolidation and interim and year end reporting.
Liaison with the Group's auditors.
Supporting the Group Financial Controller in the preparation of the Group financial statements.
Implementation and development of in-house accounting processes and procedures.
Monitoring and improving Group systems of control and reporting.
Preparation of high quality financial data for Board reporting purposes.
Coordination of Group budget process.
Liaison with and coordination of overseas Group finance departments in Italy & Egypt.
Ad-hoc project work as requested by senior management such as:
Provision of financial analysis and advice on technical accounting matters
Assistance with due diligence associated with M&A transactions
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will have the following:
Accountancy Qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Minimum of 2-4 PQE
A self-starter attitude
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Strong desire to improve processes and systems
Thorough knowledge of IFRS and accounting policies
Oil & gas experience including joint venture accounting would be highly desirable although not essential
