Application for Corporation tax not going through.

I have applied 3 times now for corporation tax yet HMRC still say there has been no application made. I am receiving the taxes application verification emails but on telephoning am being told nothing is on the system.

This has been going on for 5 weeks now.

Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what's going wrong?

    Not sure what you mean...

    When a company is formed with Companies House HMRC send out a UTR.

    Are you applying for authorisation for a client? Or are you applying for an agent code?

    Thanks for responding. I was trying to register on the Hmrc website for CT for a client but it is on the government gateway. It's like trying to navigate the labyrinth for a newbie!!

    Ok - I think you are trying to tell HMRC your client is trading which you can do here: https://online.hmrc.gov.uk/registration/newbusiness/introduction

    Alternatively, if you have an agent account with HMRC you can tell them through that, if you have several clients it will probably be in your interest to get an agent account if you don't have one already.
