We are seeking an experienced leader with financial expertise to take on the role of Facilities and Finance Manager.
Whilst the role is very much operational and in-facing, the postholder will have a long term impact on the sustainability and resilience of the YMCA’s work in Doncaster.
We are a small organisation of twenty paid staff and around ten volunteers. Together, we operate a 24/7 accommodation project for young people, a community building with recreational facilities, meeting rooms for hire and a charity shop. Our present work takes place on our site on Wood Street at the edge of Doncaster’s town centre.
Current turnover is around £450,000, with funding coming from a range of sources. We are part of the international YMCA movement but we’re an independent charity and are directly accountable to the housing and charity regulators. We’re governed by a board of local trustees who meet around eight times a year.
As Facilities and Finance Manager, you will report directly to the Chief Executive and will play a key role in ensuring compliance with our own policies and procedures, and with external standards across finance, Health and Safety and the management of people. You will feel comfortable with a position on the leadership team and will operate at all times with professionalism and credibility appropriate to your role.
You will have a keen focus on detail and be able to ensure that your team contributes positively to the experience of everyone who encounters the YMCA. You will have a flexible and responsive approach yourself and will be able to lead through periods of change and growth in our work.
We know that this isn’t a run-of-the-mill job and will require someone who’s able to combine their experience and knowledge with an interest in the Vision and Values of YMCA Doncaster and the young people we work with and for.
If you meet our criteria and think we’d be a good fit, we’d love to receive an application from you.
