Hi guys,
I sat my Financial Performance exam a few weeks ago and now I am worried that I will lose marks on questions that i technically got right, because i don't think i rounded up (i just left in decimal form).
Do they really penalise you for this?!!!

I only know what we were told for the ITAX exam, that you need to give the answer to the correct decimal places they ask for or you'll lose marks.
That was for ITAX though, so not sure for your exam, I hope not but wouldn't put it past them!0 -
i've noticed in the AAT e-learning that if you round to 1dp or nearest whole number and they have the answers to 2dp they show this as the wrong answer, but hugely frustrating when they don't put the terms in the question.
maybe the exams are setup to a higher standard and they contain some leeway, since some areas where you have the right method but have carried over an incorrect figure are given as credit, though a wrong figure is well wrong if they have specified a requirement to whole number or particular dps.
in something like Trade Receivables Collection days it doesn't make a lot of sense to say 45.23 days though if the question doesn't give any distinction between financial and non-financial quantities I guess they really do want it to be with a decimal if there is nothing specified in the question and the bit we often skip over in exams eager to get onto the questions usually has terms on decimals, commas, negative numbers etc.5
