Purpose

We are recruiting for a Manager (L3) to join the UK&I Assurance Talent Development team on a 12 fixed term contract, starting April 2017, to cover a period of maternity leave. The role is for a Curriculum Manager for a portfolio of courses on the Audit Academy curriculum and on the FIDS and FAAS curriculums.

Background

The UK&I Assurance Talent Development team is responsible for the technical training needs of the UK&I Assurance practice at all levels, from school leavers and graduates through to partner. The team also looks at the wider training needs of our Assurance people. Areas that the team is currently responsible for include:

- Audit Academy 0-5 Core Curriculum
- Audit Academy Manager Core Curriculum
- Inbound Recruitment Programme, including training for experienced hires and mobility recruits
- Annual Technical Update training for qualified staff, including Summer Academy, Winter Update, webcasts and US-for-non-US learning
- Role related learning (for example GPS)
- FIDS and FAAS learning curricula
- New Manager Assessment
- Audit Transformation initiatives, including EY Canvas, Advanced Analytics and EY Helix

In 2017, we will see the first time deployment of the New Staff Curriculum, an exciting new portfolio of courses designed to replace the current learning for our year 1 and year 2 staff. In addition, the Talent Development Team is continuing to evolve the deployment of our courses to meet the demands of the business and to challenge the way material is delivered, with an emphasis on virtual deployment. Together with the launch of EY’s Talent Academy at Canary Wharf in January 2017, this is an exciting time to be joining the Talent Development Team.

Core responsibilities of Curriculum Manager

- Develop content for a portfolio of courses from the 0-5 curriculum, ensuring that they are ‘fit for purpose’ by working with subject-matter resources for locally developed content or considering UK&I localisations for Global content;
- Plan, develop and actively facilitate at the Train the Trainer events for assigned portfolio of courses to upskill the facilitator pool (including the involvement of subject matter resources from the business);
- Build relationships with facilitator pool for portfolio of courses providing support and dealing with issues during the deployment of the courses, particularly in relation to content;
- Maintain oversight of course deployment activities and provide support to course consultants and coordinators with responding to issues which arise;
- Ensure that the key hot topics and inspection findings from regulatory reviews (AQR and AQRT/QAD) are incorporated into course content.
- Work with key stakeholders within FIDS and FAAS sub-service lines to understand the learning needs and work with them to ensure the learning is tailored appropriately

What we are looking for:

Ideally, the role will be suited to a manager rated 3 or above for FY16, with strong technical skills, recent experience of working on EY external audits and a working knowledge of the learning and development function within the Talent Development team. The ideal candidate will have excellent facilitation skills, and will be enthusiastic about the challenge of developing our people. We are looking for a proactive problem solver that will work enthusiastically in a large team to tight deadlines to deliver a portfolio of high quality and fit for purpose technical training.

Additional information:

The UK&I Assurance Talent Development team is based in London and Birmingham, with a high degree of emphasis on working together virtually. Ideally, the successful applicant will be based in one of those two locations for the majority of the time.
