Would you like a highly varied role working within a fast paced environment? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Costbase Accountant at our site in Frimley.

As a Senior Costbase Accountant, you will be working with the Combat Systems business supporting delivery to market and submarine programmes

This role will provide you with the opportunity to engage with multiple stakeholders both within the Combat Systems and Submarines business.


Your main responsibilities as a Senior Costbase Accountant will involve:

Providing support to the business ensuring sufficient understanding of costbase issues to facilitate effective management of the overheads

Responsibility for the monthly costbase reviews with department owners

Providing financial input to the development of business cases for capital & special revenue

Providing support to ensure a robust resource plan exists for Complex Systems & Support

Developing & maintaining the costbase hierarchy & structure of the Complex Systems & Support business

Ensuring adherence to business financial controls and governance process

Providing costbase input to the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) process

Providing support to the Internal Projects (Astute & Dreadnought) as required, may include cash management, EAC & risk position

Deputising for Finance Manager as required


Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) or relevant equivalent

Thorough knowledge of Financial IT Systems including SAP and MS Excel

Comprehensive business and financial modelling experience

Experience of influencing across functions and hierarchies

Desirable:

Accounting and financial management experience, working in a variety of roles including working within a project finance environment

Good working knowledge of MOD’s policies and procedures

Experience within a similar Defence environment / role would be highly advantageous

Location: Frimley

Salary: £38,000 +
