AAT Annual conference meet up

So whos got there ticket?
I couldn't go last year as I was still in employment and was turned down for the annual leave....
Roll forward a year and the jobs gone,(YAY) and I'm in control of my own destiny ... I booked the conference
So whos coming, Id love to arrange a meet up with anyone else whos attending alone, please comment below and we can set up a watsapp/ group email to arrange a time .

You miss my point. I'm sure there's plenty who attend. All I'm saying is, don't expect a huge response to your post in the forum.

@TreadStone the 'positive' reactions were missing from the 'AAT Licensed Accountant' profile. I think most people have either MAAT or FMAAT as well as Licensed Accountant so it wasn't noticed sooner!

Revoke people's licences because of none use of the forum lol - a bit dramatic , would be better if with an incentive to use it . Maybe aat could give some of those lovely green socks to aat licenced members who use the forum , or a mug (I broke mine

I've an idea AAT, a hot topics post , maybe linked to a Facebook page / LinkedIn page etc ?
I think that's where most the members are these days .
Since my old boss made me delete LinkedIn , I lost a lot of the groups I was in . But , I'm back on now , and making new connections.
I don't think there is a Facebook page for AAT members to chat and swap ideas , maybe we should make one ?
There are plenty of student pages ....

I think the AAT have an annual awards evening, e.g. for best member in practice, best CPD, best advocate, best student, etc.

I honestly think the AAT should include just one more category called "best forum advisor". There doesn't need to be a prize but at least the AAT announcing and asking people to vote on best forum advisor in the magazine/email would bring more attention to the forum.

Reader this is an amazing idea , a bit of an incentive to people to use the forum more.
I'll be honest since I started my business I dropped of the forum , busy fool and all that jazz! But now I have left my job I'm making more time for social media , so can add the forum to my list . I'll have a time schedule though so won't stay all day but maybe an hour a day to post , and answer some queries ..... maybe we could all take part and have a time schedule to ensure there are a few members online between 9-5 each hour ....
even if your only schedules in for 30mins a week ; it encourages our ethos of helping people out . Paying it forward xx

I think people like you and burg are the ideal people really to draw big crowds to the forum, because people like you and burg give AAT (student) members without a practice or a bedroom practice hope that one day they could be a success.

The AAT should definitely give you or burg a column in the AAT magazine- a lot of the articles in the magazine are just padding.

I'd love to , but getting the forum back to its glory days would be a start . Burg was one of the people who gave me lots of advice when I was starting out xx
