Multi Level Marketing Company advice

I have been approached by a sole trader who runs a Multi Level Marketing business. They have two other businesses and are looking to expand further through a business loan.
I have never worked with a Multi Level Marketing business before and have done some initial research and found that they are similar to pyramid companies which I believe are illegal.

Does anyone have any advice or help with working with a MLM business, they are looking at becoming a limited company if the expansion of the business happens also?
