HMRC Scam calls

I had a client on the phone yesterday morning complaining that he'd received a call from HMRC to tell him that he was going to be arrested for Tax Fraud. Managed to calm him down after he told me the phone number was an 01244 number.

I've now just had a call my self from an actual HMRC phone number 0300 200 3500.
This is HMRC and we have just issued an arrest warrant for you due to tax fraud, press 1 to speak to an agent.

I attempted to ring HMRC about this but got bored waiting, knew I should have issued myself a 64-8 form as the agent line is so much quicker to get someone at the other end.

Has anyone else received any calls like these as they are a SCAM!

My wife received the same call a few days ago and they used an 0300 number as well!

Told her straight away to put the phone down and I then made a call to Action Fraud so they could record it and try to close the number down. Problem is they have several numbers on the go at the same time. They use the balance of probabilities that they will frighten someone and get something out of it.
