Help for Self Employed

Hi..
Wondering if anyone can help. I have lots of Self Employed people asking what their options are if they need to stop trading. Is there any specific advise I can give them? can they claim anything from HMRC?
If anyone has a link I can visit that would be great, HMRC website doesnt seem to say much regarding self employed
