Easiest way to tell the difference between capital and revenue expenditure?

Plant property and equipment, anything that is required to bring the asset to its current working order, such as transport costs or costs of conversion can be capitalised. Revenue expenditure is largely used in the day to day running of the business and these items are consumables, such as raw materials and packaging. What level are you studying at?0
